December News from the Principal

Prepare for the birth of the Lord!

Sunday, December 3rd   begins the liturgical season of Advent, a time when we prepare for the birth of our Savior, Christ the Lord. We are preparing also in our Catholic Academy.  We are readying our hearts for the birth of Jesus, we are lighting the Advent wreath each morning. We are studying in religion class, we are singing carols, and planning for mass December 1st.  We are practicing for our Christmas Concert.  This is a free show for our families.  The name of our production is The Three Wise Men.  Your child has an assigned song and the costume requirements will be sent home by Friday.   The show is planned for Friday, December 15th   Doors open at 6:40 PM – show starts promptly at 7.  We will be selling snacks and 50/50 the night of the show.

Report card conference will be held on Monday, December 11th  from 12:30 to 3:00 and 4:00 to 6:00PM.  A separate sign up will be sent home and we ask that you select the session that is best for you.  If you are behind in your tuition, you will not be granted a conference or receive the report card. Pre K for All parents do not receive a report card as per DOE policy but a conference is required to discuss your child’s progress.

Our annual Christmas Boutique is planned for December 9th and 10th.  Please consider shopping and supporting our vendors.  If you can help us and earn service hours please contact the office.  We will pass your information along to Mrs. Kogut-Rahilly, who is chairing the event.    Remember to hand in your $5 for the class baskets.  The class parents will shop and create a basket for each class, this raffle earns the academy income towards our fundraising goal; please make sure you hand in your money by the due date.

Please make sure you have your December calendar, to refer to for all our other dates, spirit days and NUT days for the month.  We are closed December 8th   for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception a Holy Day of Obligation.

If you are interested in Service Hours or did commit to sending in items, please remember our Outlet Trip is this weekend so your donations are due Friday December 1st to receive your service hour’s credit.  We are also looking for items for the night of our Christmas Show to sell. All water, juice boxes and treats totaling $25 will receive hours.

Thank you for all you do for our academy,
