Principal Newsletter Sept. 19th

News from the Principal…

It is hard to believe that Fall is beginning this week on September 22nd, and it is still so hot!!

On the topic of weather, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  Our students enter and exit our building for morning line up, for Pre-K playtime, for lunch time and recess.

Our Handbook is currently at the printer and should be sent home to the oldest or only child by week’s end.  Attached to the handbook will be a paper that must be returned to affirm that you received it.

Ice cream has been delivered and we sell ice cream for $1.00 on Mondays , Wednesdays, and Fridays to students in grades kindergarten to grade 8 at their lunch period.   Parents can also purchase ice cream for a class treat for a birthday by sending in the money to the office.

We are celebrating 65 years of Catholic education at St Camillus.  One special new item we have is our anniversary pencils.  They are 50 cents and can be purchased by using the vending machine outside the main office.

Thank you to our families who took the Virtus class, make sure you inform the office so we can add you to our Master List.

St Camillus Catholic Academy follows NYS pesticide Laws and our licensed exterminator comes monthly when the children and faculty are not present in the building.   All our cleaning products and hand soap are Green and non-toxic.

I am happy to introduce Ms. Corona, parent of Ariendy, Arlenies, and Armany, as our new lunchroom cook and supervisor.  Ms. Corona holds the required Food Handlers license and will be in charge of the distribution of lunch.  Lunch parents are still needed to help the teacher on duty to supervise the students, assist the little ones in eating, and then escorting them to recess and supervising play.

I also interviewed Mr. Frank from Rockaway Arts in Parts.  Mr. Frank was recommended by Heather Feather and art will begin when he takes the mandatory Virtus class.  For now the homeroom teacher is providing art for the students.

Band will begin within the next week, make sure you have returned your sign up form (grades 1-8) if you are interested.

Club sign up will be coming home in the green folder tomorrow, the due date is Friday, September 23.  Clubs will begin on Monday, September 26th for students in grades K to 8.

New calendar and October Lunch menu will go home September 23rd and food order is due on Wednesday September 28th.

Assemblyman Goldfeder will stop by on Thursday, September 29 at 11:15AM to hand out his Summer Reading Awards.  Parents are invited.

Thank you for all you do to support St Camillus Catholic Academy!

Happy to be your child’s principal,
